Two women who were subjected to a violent carjacking in Springvale yesterday were employees on a "bank run", police say.
Detective Senior Constable Andrew Spooner, of Dandenong CIU, told reporters the women were driving takings to the bank and that "an amount of cash" was stolen.
The women's car was approached at the junction of Springvale Road and Stephenson Street at about 1pm yesterday by a man in a balaclava who opened the driver's side door, punched the woman in the face and demanded other occupant leave the car.
