Cold Weather this Week

Extract:

SNOW is expected in Victoria's alpine regions as early as tomorrow, less than a week after Melbourne had its driest 12-month period on record.

There have also been significant water flows into the storages for the first time in more than six months, but not enough to see the storages climb back above critically low levels.

The Bureau of Meteorology's senior forecaster, Phil King, said Victoria was about to be hit with its first real cold snap of the year.

"It's a good, strong cold front coming up," he said. "We haven't had snow yet this year — we haven't had much cold weather at all.
