A La Trobe University student accused of stabbing a fellow student three times in the back in the campus library toilets has been remanded in custody after a brief court appearance today.
Sarah Jean Cheney, 23, of Bundoora, has been charged with attempted murder and intention to cause serious injury after allegedly stabbing behavioural science student Jemma Clancy, 27.
Cheney allegedly waited for her victim in the library toilets yesterday, masked and holding a steak knife, and stabbed Clancy three times in the back.
