Sleep

I once read somewhere that technology has a strong effect on the amount of sleep we, as humans, get. And when you think about it, you can see that it makes sense.

In the 1800s, or even earlier, you can imagine that since electricity wasn't invented, households got darker a lot quicker and the traditional oil lamps could only really do so much. In this case, you can understand that people would be sleeping a lot earlier, since they wouldn't be able to do much past sunset.

Eventually, lights became invented, and the sleeping hours became shorter and shorter.

Social embodiments also become influential such as MSN and Facebook become reasons to keep us later and later into the night.

Eventually other very tasteful distractions lend themselves to keeping you up to the early hours of the morning sunrise.

So, why am I talking about this?

Actually, I've begun writing this and now, perhaps due to a lack of sleep, I don't even know what message I'm trying to put across.
